I am PhD candidate working on transitioning into an early career professional in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and interaction design. I am in the late stages of dissertation writing, anticipating a defense at the start of 2012. I am studying at the School of Interactive Arts & Technology at Simon Fraser University and teaching as sessional faculty at Emily Carr University of Art & Design.

My research interests include artificial intelligence, ubiquitous computing, tangible computing, interaction design, and design philosophy. My dissertation research is on adaptivity in ubiquitous and tangible systems.

This is my first time attending Grace Hopper, and I will be presenting in the PhD Forum (Session 3 - HCI and Systems) and blogging about my experiences. I am also very grateful to be a GHC scholarship recipient.
