Valerie Fenwick is a Principle Software Developer at Oracle. She has over a decade of experience in computer security. She helped to design and develop the cryptographic framework for the Solaris operating system. In addition, she chairs the team responsible for code revisions to Open Solaris's Operating System and Networking consolidation. Valerie has a B.S. in Computer Science from Purdue University. She is a co-author of Solaris 10 Security Essentials. In her spare time, she enjoys performing at community theaters, riding her bike, and skiing.

Valerie has been actively involved with the Grace Hopper conference since 2007. For 2011, she is proud to be the Communities Committee Co-Chair.

She will live blog the conference on her own personal blog, send twitter updates, and co-manages the Anita Borg Institute and Grace Hopper Celebration Groups on LinkedIn.
