Playing with Alice After School
From Anita Borg Institute Wiki
Presenter: Jessica Dickinson Goodman (Carnegie Mellon University)
This talk is for attendees who are interested in teaching young women to love computing using Alice teaching software. Alice was mentioned in Randy Pausch's last lecture, which received world-wide attention. Alice is a Fourth Generation programming language which gently introduces programming through movie-making. I will share the best practices I have found, some challenges I have overcome, and several extracurricular Alice exercises.
